Have you ever wanted to pet a bunny, but they’ve all been too fast for you? Ever wanted to pick up a baby chicken, but been squawked at by the mother chicken? Then come down to the zoo this week at some point! Sorry to sound like an infomercial there. Today at the zoo, I got to watch over the bunnies at the zoo today. Although, it was REALLY hot outside, so, unregretably, I stayed inside most of the day. Mom, Dad, please don’t yell at me. Well, at least I didn’t have to get in the K’Zoo outfit. (Mom, don’t say anything. The little kids who like K’Zoo might be listening……..)
Zoo Crew Insider: Day 2
Well, today was MUCH more eventful than day one. That is because today, I actually got to do something! YAY!!!!!! *ahem* Anyway, today was spent mostly in the aquarium, and near the penguin habitat. Today I had what is called an “activity table”. Basically, what it is, is a little station where kids (and adults, sometimes) can try something that has to do with a certain animal in the zoo. Golden rule of activity tables; set your table up near the animal the activity coincides with. If you don’t, you’re gonna be low on business. I’m gettin’ off topic. Today’s activity in the aquarium was Go Fish! Literally, the kids had to see how many fish they could get out of this giant tub using tongs in under a minute. It was pretty fun to watch groups of kids fight over the fish, just like pelicans, or sharks. As soon as my time was up at that table, I got shifted to the penguin activity table. In this one, the kids had to “waddle like a penguin” with a little plastic “egg” in between their feet. It was harder than it looks, as I tried it and subsequently failed it. After that, whether the kid succeded or not, they got to make a fingerprint penguin! Rock on!!! Anyway, that was pretty much what happened today. Nothing really out of the ordinary. Not yet, anyway…..DUN DUN DUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Stay tuned…
Zoo Crew Insider: Day 1
This is the begining of a week long series, that’ll be encomposing my experience of volunteering at the Fort Wayne Children’s Zoo. However, nothing will be posted today, as today was a training day, and nothing really out of the ordinary happened. Look for something tommorow….
DO NOT BE ALARMED!
To anyone that visited this blog before I made the background change (Pat and Dad), DO NOT BE ALARMED! FOR THE BLOG NEEDED SOME COLOR. Ok, I’m done yelling now. Comment if you think I should change it back, Pat. Dad, you can just yell at me at home if you want me to change it. Like I said, DO NOT BE ALARMED!……man, that was repetitive.
Greetings from the Garden!
Hello to everyone who is reading this at this present moment. Since almost none of you actually know me, I’ll give a short description. My name is Ty, but you can refer to me as Zook, or Gnome. I’m not on the tall side of life (hence the nickname). I like reading and writing fantasy novels, graphic novels, comics, etc. If you do too, try Order of the Stick. Anyway, that’s all I have so far for all of you. Maybe I’ll post something later. Bye!
